A very contemporary ambient noise music akin to noise / shouting, where irritating bursts meet devastated post-industrial landscapes, in which a human hand can sometimes be felt...

Laptop and turntable improvisations inspired by digital noise, rather than analog synths, it's not electronic music, but sounds based on an interruption.

A bandwith of a hail of information, encoded and compressed, made audible and manipulated, but very similar to the original signal, information encoded by protocols we are unable to understand, without an appropriate interface, so it's better to play with them and feel them.

[TN] is a non profit netlabel specialises in Experimental Electronic Music, focused on the expression of new musical concepts, from glitchy to field recording, which includes noise, stochastic music, drone, minimalist, microsounds and music concrete.

[TN] is also an association for creation and promotion of sound art and new musical languages.

Electronic band created in 2006 by two musicians from Perpignan (France). They both come from a jazz background as they play guitar or piano in other projects, with an aesthetic outcome ranging from Free jazz to noise or any other style of music where improvisation holds a key role. They recorded an album as a duo released on the Mexican Net-label amprecs, Baby! Noise in 2008 and played concerts as a duo in Spain (Can Xalant, Mataro) and the Netherlands (Zaal 100, Trouw in Amsterdam). In this release, both musicians works with the *copyleft* Max/MSP patch pooll, thru witch is processed electric guitar. Different sessions recorded in August 2010 have been produced and arranged by Ayankoko to create the music of 1911. Nevertheless, all the music that can be heard is totally improvised.

Xavier Lopez (piano/laptop, 1981, France) studies saxophone piano and drums at Perpignan's conservatory, his hometown. In moves to Amsterdam in 2002 where he studies classical and jazz music. He developed since then an autodidact approach to laptop playing based on feedback processing and sin-waves. His work deals with space and silence perception using memory as a time matrix, creating situations of highly demanding listening who question the musical performance as well than cultural consumption habits. He performs in different settings with a main focus on electro-acoustic sound blendings, often minimalistic, sometimes noisy.His influences range from Free-jazz to Jazzcore, noise music, reductionist approaches to improvisation, onkyo and world music. Lives in Paris since 2006 where he co-organizes the Trashvortex concert series.

David Vilayleck (guitar/laptop, 1980, France) Music studies, electro-acoustics, jazz improvisation, guitar, at the french conservatories of Perpignan and Strasbourg, he performs worlwide with bands or as a solo project named Ayankoko. Over 15 releases on the web in Spain, UK , Germany, Mexico, Russia, France, and also Ayanrecords netlabel owner, developed his art from 2004 through the internet and the use of Creative Commons and open sources. His music ranges from noise to ambient frecuencies, abstract drones, minimal beats, DIY electronica, to instrumental improvisation and/or production.

Narayan and Ayankoko are recorded at Medika squat in Zagreb performing live. Both performances are using sampling and sound manipulations from computer to create somewhat industrial storytelling-noise-ambient music. It is music for long winter nights, when one loves to get worm under the blanket, close eyes and jump alone in the sea of inner visions.

Ayankoko is from Languedoc-Roussillon, France and Narayan from Sisak, Croatia. What make them come and play. See for yourself.

Ayankoko is the french sound artist, composer, performer David Vilayleck's personal project.
Formerly a guitar player with various background influences such as jazz, electro, traditional and improvised music, rock focused on experimental ambient noise sound from 2004. His music aims at developing strucures and tensions in the contemporary sound art landscape; it presents a certain sense of speed in layering improvised music, and a strong personal taste for abstract esthetics.

He has released more than 15 works through these i-labels using creative commons license: Hazardrecords, Headphonica, Dog-eared records, Amp-recs, Clinical archives, Colin johnco records, Tecnonucleo, Draining beats on the brain, and so enjoyed the internet media platform as an explosion of new artistic freedom in spreading music and communicating worldwide.

He has performed extensively in cultural and experimental venues as a noise artist in Europe such as LEM festival (Barcelona), Trytone festival, Zaal 100 (Amsterdam), Pagouf festival (Lausanne), Salon Bruit, Electronic Church, Madame Claude, Tacheles, Wendel, Neukolln fest (Berlin), Galerie Gegenheim, Galerie Durchaufhitzer, Weimar Music Institute (East Germany), Guitare au Palais festival, Montpellier University, festival du libre, Giboulées, l'Etat des lieux, Stimultania (France, Perpignan, Strasbourg, Mulhouse)...

His first recording for Hazardrecords (2004) was used as a soundtrack at the Horror Movie festival in Murcia, Spain. His music was comissionated in 2008 by the Crown of Aragon Archives Museum in Barcelona and audio-supported a permanent exhibition for 6 months. The same year it was also used for a documentary soundtrack about the annual yoruba trance music festival in Nigeria (Madrid, NemoArt studios for Tve). In 2009, with acclaimed morrocan Dj-singer-producer Michy Mano, he composed the original movie soundtracks of the first zombie movie in Maghreb, along with a comedy-romance for Alien Productions in Casablanca, Morocco.

As an improvising musician he has also collaborated with international artists, bands and musicians as Klaas Huebner aka Matchees, Xavier Lopez, Gerri Jaeger, Serge Lazarevitch, Joel Allouche, Fred Poncet, Pitch quartet, LsdRoom, l'Oeil Marron, John Tchicai, Projet Lafaille, Najib Saleem, George Burton, Mario Canonge, Souriba Kouyaté, Gustavo Ovalles, Pascal Gully, Loop Collective, Glenn Ferris, LIMA, Collectif Koa, Khalid Bennaji...

A deep lover of all great music and art, I got interested in early years and studied high jazz musical concepts from guitarist Jim Hall, pianist Stephan Oliva, as well as concrete music and state-in-the-art DSP technologies such as Max/Msp with GRM founding member Denis Dufour. Lately, when i launched the Ayankoko project mostly based on live electronics and open creative forms, i started to like as well traditional trance music, its powerful ancient songs and rythms from Cuba and Morocco. I was lucky to meet and to play with such masters as yoruba singer Lazaro Ros in Cuba, gnawa music mâalems Mustafa Bakbou, Abdellah and Mahmoud Guinia, Abdeltif in Morocco. Last 2009 I spent most of the time learning with the late Hmida Boussou band, one of the greatest gnawa musician ever, in the Casablanca medina and went to big gatherings like Sidi Ali, Essaouira, or Tamsloht. As an european still, I got of course deeply print-minded by the 90's and 00's pop culture, i mean mainly the arise of electronica and techno music... That is to say ,all in all, that with such a huge panel of influences, it's nothing else but music and musical creativity is always fed by something or somewhere and it's the great thing about...

"Who the hell is ayankoko!!!!? What´s the mistery behind such peculiar name? Well, ayankoko is the artistic name
of Laos- born, french- adopted David Vilayleck, a young musician with a very personal style offering a multicolured solo
project which embraces jazz, electronics and noise music, blues, traditional sound forms, techno, rock (in its least
obliging sense), audio and video montages and all other artistic forms that happen to estimulate this proliﬁc artist´s grey
matter…
David uses guitar, electronic devices and a laptop to create an hallucinatory curtain of sounds in which Aphex Twinʼs
obscure ambient meets Schaeffer and Pierre Henryʼs musique concrete. In his musical approach, he develops either
minimal slow tension, restless harmonic, repetitive forms or placing spatial elements in a signiﬁcative density of sound;

"Yet another headache for the fuzzy librarian in me; Ayankoko!!! strikes me as an unclassiﬁable artist from where I'm
sitting, and if I had to be precise in my assessment of his work I would fail miserably, for how can a man be exact when
trying to describe a river of lava free-ﬂowing its way through someone's subconscious carpark and wildly twisting and
turning everything that stands in its path? Concrete... improvisational... electronics... collage. See? Wild blurs and
melted metamorphoses may be ﬁne for a Bacon painting but I can't use that strategy to tag Stereosexline (though blurs
and metamorphoses are key elements here). For all its concrete and collage qualities however, there is no single
straight line separating one substance from the next. This is more of a glutinous, quivering mass... like an acephalous
dust bunny drowning in a sea of jell-o. But don't let that scare you off from a mighty ﬁne musical experience,
Ayankoko!!! has a great ear for tone and texture, and his sense of structure and logic, however stream of
consciousness it may be, is in fact strong as an ox... or strong enough to kill an ox with one single blow to the head. An
acephalous ox, mind you."

doch ein Apfel? Ich wäre ja mehr für Orangen, die habe bestimmt einen
äußerst gesunden Sound. :D
OK, Spaß beiseite. Was Klaas Huebner, seines Zeichens Sound-Artist, und
Ayankoko da produziert haben ist wirklich etwas ganz spezielles. So
wurden für die Aufnahme Früchte genommen und ganz einfach zu
Oszillatoren umfunktioniert. Wir wissen ja alle das Früchte geringe
Spannungen abgeben, spätestens seit dem Physikunterricht, wo ein Apfel
eine Glühbirne zum leuchten gebracht hat. Da liegt die Idee ja garnicht
fern diese Spannungen zum kreieren von Musik zu benutzen. Natürlich
haben diese Früchtchen keinen MIDI-Anschluss und verfügen auch nicht
über ein BPM-Regler, somit ist das Endprodukt doch ziemlich Speziell,
es piepst, brumt und krakählt da überall. Erinnert an Soundtracks von
Indipendentﬁlmen.
Wer auf Experimente und gesunden, unberührten Sound steht, ist es ein
wahrer Hörgenuß, alle anderen sind hier wirklich fehl am Platz. Ich
frage mich grad die ganze Zeit wie wohl Gemüse klingt…. ;)"

L'esprit de l'homme qui rêve se satisfait pleinement de ce qui lui arrive. L'angoissante question de la possibilité ne se pose plus.
Il faut prendre beaucoup sur soi pour vouloir s'établir dans ces régions reculées où tout a d'abord l'air de se passer si mal, à plus forte raison pour vouloir y conduire quelqu'un. Encore n'est-on jamais sur d'y être tout à fait. Tant qu' à se déplaire, on est aussi bien disposé à s'arrêter ailleurs.Toujours est-il qu'une flèche indique maintenant la direction de ces pays et que l'atteinte du but véritable ne dépend plus que de l'endurance du voyageur.
L'épouvantail de la mort, les cafés chantants de l'au-delà, le naufrage de la plus belle raison dans le sommeil, l'écrasant rideau de l'avenir, les tours de Babel, les miroirs d'inconsistance, l'infranchissable mur d'argent éclabousse de cervelle, ces images trop saisissantes de la catastrophe humaine ne sont peut-être que des images.

Produced in april 2008 after an inspiring  improvisational trio guitar/bass/drum gig on experimental movie at the Giboulées festival in Strasbourg, this recording found eventually its home  in 2009 at Dog-eared Records, crazy good netlabel from Mexico run by Eduardo Padilla.

Playing Jazz in Morocco

March 2009 to early July 2009.

In Morocco, mainly Casablanca, it was an exciting experience playing with outstanding international musicians (NYC, Paris, la Havana, Madrid) as well as great renowned local ones . Photos and videos of some jazz venues i had chance to perform: Jazz sous le rocher, Kenzi tower hotel in Casablanca, Lotus club in Marrakech.

Ayankoko is french sound artist David Vilayleck's solo project. A formerly guitar player with various background influences as jazz, electro, traditional music turned himself into an electronica ambient noise artist since 2004. He released works through internet labels and use of creative commons license with hazardrecords, headphonica, dog-eared records, amp-recs, clinical archives, colin johnco records, and has performed extensively in Europe.

His music aims at developing structures and tensions in the contemporary sound art landscape. He currently resides between Morocco, where he studies and works with masters of traditional trance/sufi music and Berlin.

Twice a month Trytone, an Amsterdam Platform, record label and festival representing "new ways of jazz", organizes a small festival consisting of national and international musicians and groups presenting they recent work. For this special edition of the new season Trytone will collaborate the first time with the new Art Space De Verdieping (Trouw) and will be guest programmed by local drummer Gerri Jaeger.

Lopez-Ayankoko-Vanoli-Jaeger-Auer-Evans 6tet

Semi-accoustic sound-improvisation consisting of an international line-up of fine musicians. The core of this group Lopez, Ayankoko, Vanoli and Jaeger first live-sound-experimented in early 2008 but have been playing together regularly in different groups and combinations since a couple of years. They developed a certain sense for speed of developing and layering improvised music and find but also challenge each other in their personal taste for abstract esthetics. On top we are proud to annouce two more great guests: Christoph Pepe Auer (Stockholm/vienna) and Peter Evans (New York City). We are very happy that four of the mentioned musicians will travel to Amsterdam for this exclusive concert!
